BISMARCK - North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler and former fiancé Todd Tschosik will appear on the agenda of an upcoming meeting of the state’s teacher licensing board.
The Education Standards and Practices Board is slated to discuss both educators at its meeting Thursday in Bismarck.
The board delayed taking any disciplinary action against Baesler or Tschosik at a meeting earlier this month. Board members agreed to wait until the court reached a decision in the case against Baesler, who was charged with simple assault after Tschosik called police following an incident between the two.
The charge against Baesler was dropped last week.
The board also discussed Tschosik’s police records at its March meeting, including pleading guilty to driving under the influence in December 2014. He was also arrested for DUI in 2011, and he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving.
A battery charge against Tschosik was dropped last summer after an alleged domestic violence incident against Baesler in Florida.
The board said it would also monitor any action the Bismarck School Board takes against him. Tschosik, a Bismarck Public Schools teacher, is on an improvement plan following absences at work.
The school board has not taken any action against him.
