The latest round of Dickinson Public Schools teacher contract negotiations has officially established ground rules.
Representatives from the Dickinson School Board and the Dickinson Education Association approved the list of 13 rules at a Tuesday afternoon meeting in the district’s Central Administration Office to guide the proceedings of the 2016-17 contract-building process.
The final rule set a target date of May 6 for completing the negotiations in order to distribute new contracts to district teachers before the end of this current school year.
“So far, so good,” said Jim Fahy, DEA negotiator. “It’s a give-and-take process.”
DEA representatives will present and prioritize their topics for negotiation beginning in the next negotiation meeting at 6:30 p.m. on March 10.
