A 17-year-old juvenile male has been charged with reckless endangerment following the accidental shooting of a 15-year-old juvenile male at a residence located on the 300 block of Anna Street on Dickinson’s south side, Dickinson Police Capt. Joe Cianni said in a press release on Friday.

The 15-year-old victim was wounded by a single gunshot resulting from the 17-year-old suspect allegedly recklessly brandishing a loaded handgun, causing the discharge in the bedroom of the residence where three juveniles were located, police said. The victim’s wounds were not life-threatening and the boy is expected to recover.

The victim was transported to CHI St. Alexius Health-Dickinson by friends and was later transferred to Bismarck.

The incident was reported to Dickinson Police at around 1 a.m. Friday morning and is still under investigation.
