Testing the gates

Randy Ehlis, natural resource specialist and dam tender, monitors a controlled release exercise at the Dickinson Dam bascule gates on Thursday morning for the United States Bureau of Reclamation's Dakotas Area Office. The testing took approximately three hours with water releases at 100 cubic feet per second and increasing to 500 cfs. The data was to verify the release rate from the gates. It was part of Reclamation's ongoing facility maintenance program.
