BEULAH -- After dropping the opening game to Beulah, Dickinson Trinity came back with a vengeance, winning the next three games en route to a 13-25, 25-9, 25-16, 25-21 District 14 victory.

"It's a big district win," Titans coach Brad Foss said. "Things just keep getting tougher though after this point. We still have to keep improving."

The Miners were the aggressors in Game 1, winning easily 25-13, but that all changed in Game 2.

Foss said the Titans were able to use a long run to not only build a lead, but to regain their confidence. The result was a 25-9 thumping.

"We got our confidence back because we started passing," Foss said. "We passed well enough to get some hits. It was a good response from a bad first game."

The Titans continued to be the aggressors through the rest of the match using their passing to put together a number of long scoring streaks for a 25-16 win.

"We were on the attack and they were on defense," Foss said. "When our passing is on, that's when we're able to roll. We have so many options hitting."

Junior outside hitter Shannon Ernst led the Titans in kills with 10 and had a game-high four aces. Junior middle hitter Breanna Messer posted a game-high four blocks to go with her seven kills.

Senior setter Keshia Kudrna had a led all setters with 16 assists while junior setter Sheyenne Plummer tallied 14.

Defensively, Kaylee Schank led the way with 22 digs. For Foss, she was in the right place at the right time.

"At first she was not moving her feet very well, but towards the second and third game, she got into the groove," Foss said. "If you hit cross court and get in the right spot, you can get a lot of digs. She played that just right."
