The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a travel alert for southwest North Dakota through Friday morning.

Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but should be advised that blowing snow is sticking to the road and causing icy conditions, according to a press release. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds.

Cities affected by the alert include: Areas north, west, and south of Bismarck, Washburn, Center, Glen Ullin, Flasher, Selfridge, Beulah, Killdeer, Dickinson, Beach, Bowman and Hettinger and surrounding areas.
