The start date for a federal trial for a California man and woman accused of running a commercial sex business in Dickinson and Minot was pushed from March to June on Tuesday after lawyers on both sides of the case said they needed more time to prepare.
The trial for Trina Pheuong Nguyen, 32, and Loc Bao Tran, 33, is tentatively scheduled to start on June 8 and could run for as many as 10 days.
Nguyen and Tran are accused of luring women from California to engage in prostitution between September of 2012 and March.
In addition to sex trafficking charges, Tran and Nguyen are facing federal extortion charges for allegedly threatening some of the women who had been given high-interest loans.
