NEW ENGLAND -- The Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team may have been down a few players, but they weren't down when time was up.

The Titans defeated New England 47-38 on Thursday night.

"We had to start a little differently tonight," Titans coach Alysia Hugret said. "We have a couple girls out with injuries and couple sick."

Dickinson Trinity guards Kaylee Schank and Katie Gordon played in the game though they've been fighting illness.

"We're hoping they'll be back at full strength here soon," Hugret said.

However, junior forward Noelle Steiner and sophomore guard Sheyenne Plummer are recovering from injuries and will most likely be out until the district tournament.

Sophomore Breanna Messer led the Titans with 14 points.

Amanda Olheiser led New England with 13 points.

"They played very hard," Hugret said. "The whole game, we struggled getting the ball in the hole, but we attacked the hoop and took shots. I was very pleased with the team effort we had tonight."
