BEACH -- Dickinson Trinity remained unbeaten with a four-game victory over Beach on Thursday in Region 7 volleyball.

Titans junior Breanna Messer had six kills, 22 digs and two blocks to lead Trinity to a 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, 25-10 win.

Titans head coach Brad Foss said the unbeaten start has been impressive.

"We're happy where we're at, but we've still got to improve," Foss said.

Shannon Ernst added seven kills, six digs and three blocks for the Titans, who improved their record to 8-0.

Emily Hardy had seven kills and seven blocks for the Buccaneers (2-4).

"Give them a lot of credit, they dug a heck of a lot of balls against us," Foss said. "We kept hitting them and they kept digging them back at us. They kept us on our toes."

The Titans rest for the remainder of the week, but their schedule ahead is daunting.

On Tuesday, they host District 14 rival Richardton-Taylor, and on Thursday, District 13 power Bowman County comes to the Knights of Columbus Activities Center.

"Those two will be big matches for regional, just to see where we're sitting as far as the regional," Foss said.

BISMARCK -- Facing a tough West Region foe in Bismarck High, Dickinson High volleyball coach Jay Schobinger expected his team to come out firing.

However, Bismarck quickly put an end to his hopes with a 25-18, 22-25, 25-11, 25-19 victory on Thursday night at Karlgaard Gymnasium.

"We didn't play with much emotion," Schobinger said. "We had spurts where we played well, but didn't play with any consistency."

Whitney Abrahamson led the Midgets with 16 digs and 15 assists. Lynn Messer led the Midgets with just six kills. Jess Herauf had four kills and two aces.

Meanwhile, Alex Feeney paced Bismarck with 17 kills and Karli Gilbertson added 14.

Dickinson next hosts Bismarck St. Mary's at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity's KofC Activities Center. Trinity follows at 7:30 p.m. against Richardton-Taylor.

"Jay and I just decided to try it, combine crowds and see if we can get a tournament atmosphere going," Foss said.
