Area no-travel advisories have been lifted, according to officials.

Stark, Dunn and Billings counties had all issued no-travel advisories on Wednesday night because of icy roads and blowing snow causing hazardous driving conditions.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has reopened Highway 22 north of Killdeer in the breaks near milemarker 125 after several semi trucks got stuck or failed to get up the hills.

The Dickinson Police Department posted a message on its Facebook page Wedneday night, stating it had called in extra officers to handle traffic issues within the city. The extremely icy roads resulted in about two dozen collisions or motorist assists in one hour.

Icy conditions are still cuasing hazardous travel, according to Stark County Emergency Manager Bill Fahlsing. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while driving.
