A Suburban jumped a curb, pushed a boat parked next to a garage out of the way before crashing into a detached garage around 2:30 p.m. Monday on Dickinson's west side. The garage is located at the back of a house on the northeast corner of Eighth Street and Third Avenue West.

James Kessler, who lives at the afflicted house, was told by police that the driver of the Suburban fell asleep while heading south on Third Avenue West and veered across the street and into the garage. Maggie Kessler was in the house at the time of the crash and said the wreck knocked her off her chair. James said thankfully the Suburban hit the garage and not the house. Police told him that the driver was not injured.
