Victim of fatal shooting in Minot identified

MINOT, N.D. – Minot police have identified the man who died in a weekend shooting as Roger Falana, 30, a Minot resident who is originally from Florida.

Falana died from injuries stemming from a shooting that happened just after 3 a.m. Sunday in the 10 block of First Street Southeast and South Broadway, police said.

Police have not yet identified a 43-year-old woman who also was shot and taken to Trinity Hospital.

Investigators have executed several search warrants in Minot in connection with the case, but no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Police have arrested five people on unrelated charges as a result of the investigation.

Officers are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Minot Police Department’s Investigations Division. Information leading to an arrest may lead to an award of up to $1,000.
