Dickinson Mayor Dennis Johnson takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and money for the ALS Association.
Dumping water and ice cubes on Johnson on the steps of his home Friday morning are, left to right, Cooper Cripe, 5; Jackson Cripe, 9; and Issac Shelton, 8.
Johnson was challenged by Brock White of Dan Porter Motors. He challenged his fellow city commissioners, Scott Decker, Gene Jackson, Carson Steiner and Klayton Oltmanns.
Prior to his challenge, Johnson called awareness to ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, by speaking about former longtime Dickinson resident Doug Jaeger.
Jaeger, a former director of Dickinson Parks and Recreation and a businessman, lost his battle with ALS on Sunday, Aug. 17.
