BISMARCK (AP) -- Wachter Middle School student Micah Mabin has won North Dakota's geography bee.
The eighth-grader made it through Friday's competition without missing a single question. He credits a lot of studying.
Mabin will represent the state in the National Geographic Bee on May 25-26 in Washington, D.C. The top prize is a $25,000 scholarship.
For winning the statewide bee, Mabin gets a $100 check and an atlas.
The geography bee is open to students in fourth through eighth grades. This year, 101 students competed at the state level in North Dakota.
