Glendive, Mont.: On March 27, my best friend and partner for 18½ years took his final road trip, "God Speed" Bill.
William (Bill) Deines Jr., age 79, of Glendive, Mont., passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care.
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor James Hageman officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive.

Bill was born on March 12, 1930, in Minatare, Neb., the son of William and Anna (Leever) Deines. Raised and educated in Nebraska, in 1940 he moved with his parents to Glendive, where the family homesteaded. He married Annie Elhard on Sept. 7, 1952, in Glendive. They ranched and farmed on Crackerbox Route, near Glendive. Annie preceded Bill in death in September, 1988. He married Dolores Bender on Oct. 14, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nev. They made their home in the Crackerbox area until moving to their present home on Highway 16, north of Glendive.
Bill loved his land, gardening and working in his yard. Bill received recognition for being the "Top Beet Grower" of Dawson County for several seasons. He enjoyed camping and fishing on the "Big Lake", where he had a mobile home at Brendles Bay. He enjoyed agate hunting and then making jewelry of the finds. Bill spent 15 winters in Arizona, enjoying "the good life." He loved old time music and loved to play his accordion. He enjoyed his many "road trips."
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Billy, brother Melvin and sister Mary Alice.
Survivors include his wife Dolores; three daughters, Sherry Deines of Miles City, Mont., JoAnn Goroski and her husband Doug of Glendive, Montana, Fonda Wuest and her husband Wayne of Butte, Mont.; three step-children, Brad Bender, Lisa O' Boyle and her husband Mike, Melanie Renslow and her husband Brad; two brothers, Elmer Deines and Gene Deines and his wife Elayne of Glendive; two sisters, Violet Meyer and her husband Ray of Mandan, North Dakota and Caron Svendson and her husband Jim of Opportunity, Mont.; 17 grandchildren, Samantha Wilmot, Robert Wayne Wilmot II, Kevin Goroski and his wife Julia, Bryon Goroski, Adam Wuest, Amber Wuest, Danielle Krebs and her husband Levi, Jayse Bender, Lisha O' Boyle, Ashling O' Boyle, Shea O' Boyle, Brady O' Boyle, Shane O' Boyle, Shannely O' Boyle, Conor O' Boyle, Megan Renslow, Morgan Renslow and one great-granddaughter Hailey Goroski.
