GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- When a statue goes missing, maybe it helps if it's a statue of the patron saint of lost items.

A 4½-foot-tall statue of St. Anthony was stolen in June from a from a chapel at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Now it's been found, and officials plan to reinstall it Thursday.

Someone walking on a nearby path found it in a ditch recently and called police. Authorities returned it to Joan Jadin, whose family takes care of the chapel.

She says they're pleased to have it back. She says someone spray-painted it white and its hand was broken off, but a local artist has carved a new hand out of wood and repainted the statue.

Jadin says everyone's prayers have been answered.
