GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks police are investigating a deadly shooting.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Eighth Avenue North just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, for a suspicious person, according to a news release from the Grand Forks Police Department.

When officers arrived they saw a man and woman arguing inside the home.

They then heard a gunshot and a woman came out of the home and collapsed.

She was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

Police then say 26-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Abdullahi surrendered without incident.

He was booked on charges of manslaughter, felon in possession of a firearm and theft of property.
