PIERRE, S.D. —South Dakotans continue to be at greater risk of becoming infected with the coronavirus with one of the highest positive case rates per capita in the nation.
Active cases decreased Monday, Nov. 16, to 18,139 in South Dakota, down from Sunday’s 19,360 case count.
The South Dakota Department of Health reported 897 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the state’s total positive case count to 66,278 overall.
The death toll remained at 644. Current hospitalizations are at 560.
