BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Wednesday, April 28. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 154
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,079
- TOTAL CASES: 107,154
- TOTAL RECOVERED: 104,589
- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 3.1%
North Dakota's active case count increased by 32 on Wednesday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, saw 32 new cases, bringing its active case count to 262. Burleigh County, which includes Bismarck, saw 19 new cases. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 4.4%.
ACTIVE HOSPITALIZATIONS: 37
DEATHS, NEWLY REPORTED:
TOTAL DEATHS: 1,486
The state reported no new COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday. Hospitalizations rose by four over the previous day.
FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 275,911 (47% of population)
FULL VACCINE COVERAGE: 239,842 (40.9% of population)
Vaccination rates have begun to plateau with many younger residents having turned down the shot to this point. The health department urges residents to seek more information at www.health.nd.gov/covidvaccinelocator.
