Emil Sivak, formerly of Belfield, North Dakota, passed away of heart disease in Orlando, FL on May 7, 2020.
He was born to Paul and Polly (Gawryluk) Sivak on May 16, 1943 while the family lived on the farm at Snow, North Dakota, moving into Belfield when he was three years old. After his school years he worked at various jobs in the area. Emil then went to work for James Igoe Construction of Bismarck, building bridges in the area and throughout the state for a number of years.
He spent some time taking up training at vocational schools in Bismarck and Fargo in the mid 70’s. He then traveled around the country for a while, spending some time in Arkansas and then settling in the Orlando area working at various jobs. He retired from his job as a Maintenance Site Manager for the Orlando Housing Authority in 2009.
Emil was a soft-spoken man with a gentle disposition and a sense of humor. He was loved by his nieces and nephews and always enjoyed their visits and they loved hanging out with him. The memories he left them are many! These memories that are now tucked away in their hearts include going for rides in his ’57 Chevy to see and experience many different sights in the country and in town along with the sing-along Emil had them say before they could ride. Some specific memories his nieces and nephews have are of feeding horses, going to the bowling alley, being swung in the air, fishing, going running, and a boys’ weekend trip to Bismarck. Emil was also known for keeping in touch through cards and letters, which will now be cherished forever.
Emil is survived by a brother, Charles, sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Robert Holland, brother-in-law, Ron Kadrmas, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Steve and Paul, sisters, Agnes Papka, Jan Kadrmas and Marilyn Reisenauer, brother-in-law, Phil Reisenauer, and nephew, Craig Kadrmas.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
