Emma Offerdahl

Funeral service for Emma Offerdahl, 90, of Dickinson will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at First Congregational Church UCC Dickinson with Pastor Janel Kolar officiating. Burial will follow in Dickinson Cemetery.

Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church UCC Dickinson with prayers at 7:00 p.m.

Emma passed away February 27, 2023 with her family by her side at CHI St. Alexius in Dickinson.

Emma Jane Offerdahl, Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, Friend. In her 90 years she played many roles and did all with love and kindness. Emma was born September 9th, 1932 to Fred G. and Inga (Olson) Pierson and grew up on a farm near Tioga, ND. She attended country school, and later began working as a cook in Ray, ND.

Emma married Rudy Iverson and they had four children Diane, Rodney, Linda and Susan. In 1963 she married the love of her life Clayton and together they had their daughter, Theresa. Clayton and Emma were married 57 years before Claytons passing.

Along with raising her children, Emma volunteered her time at the ArcAid for over 25 years. Emma loved and cherished her family above all else. For Holidays she always looked forward to decorating and setting a beautiful table and made sure to make plenty of food so that everyone got some leftovers to take home. She will be remembered for her love of purple, her flower gardens, crocheting, quilt making, baking and cooking, especially her beloved Grandma Buns and lefse. Emma felt blessed to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Emma is survived by her children; Diane Amsterberg of Bismarck, Theresa (Russ) Steier of Dickinson, her son-in-law, Curt Kuntz; grandchildren, Darin Amsterberg, Joshua (Jennifer) Kuntz, Jeremy (Hollie) Kuntz, Ryan (Heidi) Amsterberg, Corey (Mya) Kuntz, Christopher Kuntz, Brandan (Jessica) Steier, Jamie Iverson, McKenzie Steier, Dustin Iverson, and Kylee Iverson; grandchildren Jeffery Beckman, Joshua (Jenn) Beckman, and Derek Beckman; great-grandchildren Isabella and Brody Amsterberg, Conner and Briella Steier, Emmilia Steier, Cami, Jayden, Chloe Jax, Katie and Alex Kuntz; great-grandchildren Alek, Draven, Jude, Jamison Beckman and Tyus Praus; sisters Alma Lalim of Minot and Lila Perzinski of Tioga.

Emma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton Offerdahl; her children Rodney Iverson, Linda Iverson, and Susan Kuntz; son-in-law, Alan Amsterberg; granddaughter Brittany Steier; sisters, Clara, Gena, Grace, and Jennie; brother, Carl.
