Geralyn (Krebs) Covey


Geralyn Regina (Krebs) Covey entered eternal rest alongside her husband, David Covey, Sr. on February 13, 2022. Geralyn (Jer) was born to Rose (Huschka) and Thomas Krebs in Dickinson, ND on August 25, 1955, the 6th of 13 siblings.

Jer was raised in rural Regent, ND, and attended Regent Public School grades 1 -12. She married Darold Zentner and moved to Riverside, Washington in 1975 where they owned and operated an apple orchard. The couple were blessed with 2 sons, Shannon and Dean. In 1999 Jer married Dave Covey, Jr.

Jer had a dedication to hard work and agriculture. After working in the orchard, she began a career with Hamilton Farm Equipment retiring after 30+ years. By this time, she had become a beloved figure in the community.

Jer had many talents including gardening (sharing produce with friends and neighbors), quilting, woodworking, puzzling, metal detecting, and playing guitar and singing. She was a devout catholic and attended Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Okanogan, WA. Jer was a beloved mother and grandmother who helped with teaching her grandkids during these trying times. Spending time with her son and grandchildren was very special to her. She will be dearly missed by them. Jer was a dedicated daughter and came back to ND for a visit every year while her parents were still alive.

Geralyn was preceded in death by her son, Shannon Zentner and parents, Rose and Thomas Krebs, and brother-in-law Craig Muscha. She is survived by her son Dean Zentner, grandchildren Gabrielle, Sophia, Wyatt, and Rogan Zentner, Dave’s children, Dave Jr. and Debbie Springer, brothers Thomas, Jr. (Kathy) Krebs of Dickinson, Eric (Debbie) Krebs of Jamestown, sisters, Cheryl (Cary) Ridl of Dickinson, Cleora (Duane) Roth of Dickinson, Lucinda Zentner of Surprise, AZ, Petrina (Gerald) Haag of Dickinson, Berneta (Edward K) Ridl of Minot, Rita Muscha of Williston, Renelda (Allen) Stagl of Sidney, MT, Clarice (Darren) Twogood of Dickinson, Jolyn (Jeff) Kostelecky of Bismarck, Jean (Todd) Bartels of Sturgis, SD.

A rosary and mass will be held at 5:00 p.m. PDT, Friday, March 25, 2022, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Okanogan, WA. Livestream available at Our Lady of the Valley Parish Facebook page.

Memorial Services will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Okanogan County Agriplex at 11:00 a.m. PDT.
