Juanita Syree Gordon-Gibbs
On December 23rd, 2021 the Heavens welcomed another soul, Juanita Syree Gordon-Gibbs, who passed unexpectedly at the hospital in Rancho Mirage, CA. Syree was born on November 14th, 1968 in Williston, ND to Donald R. Gordon and Gloria J. (Hedstrom) Oakland. She attended Fryburg Elementary School and graduated from Belfield High School with the class of 1987. Syree furthered her education at UND from 1987-88. Shortly after, Syree married Travis Wollan of Watford City, ND and together had one daughter, Taylor (Wollan) Herd. Twenty two years ago, Syree moved to the sunny state of California where she met and married Gregory Gibbs on November 15th, 2004 and resided, continuing to make beautiful and lasting memories until her final moments. What we think of when we remember Syree is “light” and strength. Always offering an ear or shoulder, she was a bright spot for many even in the midst of her own trials and struggles dealing with type 1 diabetes for 43 years. Syree lived life to the fullest as if every moment were her last; this included fun shopping excursions, concerts, dining out, day trips, tattoos and meeting new and interesting people; all the while earning a living with her online sales positions with Lulu Roe and Scentsy. She enjoyed filling her quieter moments being surrounded by the love and sharing of family and friends and of course her beloved dog family; a professed “dog mom”. But most of all she took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Syree is proceeded in death by Gloria Okland (mother), Kenneth Okland (step father) Survived by Donald R. Gordon (Father), Cynthia L. Gordon (step mother), Taylor (Wollan) Herd (daughter), 2 siblings; Candida L. (Gordon) Felts (sister), Sheldon R. Gordon (brother), Grandchildren; Raven L. Herd, Bentley J. Jones, Parker C.L. Jones, Harley J. Herd, Brayden F.C. Jones, Grayson V. Inman-Lindsay, and Hudson G. Inman-Lindsay,
