Wanda Baar Hoechst

Wanda Rose Baar Hoechst, 65, Bismarck, went peacefully to Heaven surrounded by her family on Saturday July 27, 2019 at a local hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 1st Lutheran Church, 800 N 7th St, Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Wanda was born in Dickinson, ND, on December 25, 1953, Christmas Day, the third of ten children to Albert and Alice Baar. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1971. In 1982 she married Vern Hoechst and assumed the role of mother to Nikki, Luke, and Brandon. In 1994, her dream of having her own child came true when Rose was born. She worked for Burlington Northern until 1998. Throughout the years, she assumed many roles, PTO Mom, page for the legislature, and was very involved at First Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, going to the YMCA, quilting, fishing, and going to her 10 grandchildren’s many activities. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She especially loved cooking meals for the entire family and baking a special cake for each family member’s birthday. Wanda was grateful to have shared her life with her husband, Vern; her two daughters, Nikki (Jason) Van Lishout and Rose (Nolan) Schwarz; her two sons, Luke (Anne) Hoechst and Brandon (Loralie) Hoechst, all of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Carter, Delaney, Chase, Emersyn, Ethan, Parker, Elise, Jaxson, Eli and Elin; her siblings and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alice; her brothers-in-law, Verdean Meidinger and David Witte.
