Recently an enjoyable ride was taken on the newly completed and paved South Heart Road.
The road takes you through the Green River Valley past some Badlands area, and in the Northern Reaches prairie covered hills in Ranch Country.
In addition the pioneer, historic Hutmacher Homestead is adjacent to the road. The stop here was very interesting and educational as it gave insight into the hard scrabble life of early settlers in Western North Dakota.
Being that the South Heart road spans two counties , I think it would be good policy to have the road become part of the State Highway System, This would shift the cost of snow and ice removal to the State of North Dakota.
The road should be numbered State 67 as this is the highway which runs north of Scranton. It is my suggestion that the respective County Commissioners and Legislators take the necessary action to get this done.
