The Dickinson Wind Energy project is now public knowledge. The project surrounds the city of Taylor and includes an estimated 87 towers. With an endeavor of this magnitude, it’s not surprising that attitudes about the impact and benefits sing from one end of the scale to the other. One of my concerns is the effect that I already see it having on community relations.
It’s hard to disagree on an issue without a certain amount of tension, but we owe it to our friends and neighbors, and to ourselves, to keep the tension from reaching extremes. Those opposed to the project need to respect those who are directly involved and understand that they have the right to manage their property as they see fit. In turn, those who support the project need to understand the concerns that those on the other side have. Try Googling “Living Under a Wind Project” to see what some of those concerns are.
Remember, another person’s opinion is as important to them as yours is to you.
