GULF SHORES, Ala. - With a third-place finish in the decathlon at the NAIA Track and Field National Championships, Dickinson State sophomore Cleet Wrzesinski earned All-American status for the fourth time in his short college athletics career.

Concluding the decathlon with five events on Friday, May 24, accumulating 6,888 points to take third at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.

He finished eighth in the same event last spring and finished in the sixth and fifth in the indoor heptathlon in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Wrzesinski, a Baker, Mont., native, finished first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.69 seconds. HIs highest finish the rest of the day was sixth in javelin with a throw of 147 feet. He placed seventh in the 1,500-meter race, eighth in the pole vault and 12th in the discus.

Caleb Petross earned 20th among 28 competitors in the long jump, leaping 22 feet, three inches.

Also competing for the Blue Hawk men, was senior Cain Boschee, who took 25th of 26 runners in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.89 seconds.

For the women, sophomore Megan Erickson ran the 100-meter dash in 12.19 seconds, good for 21st overall. Sophomore Mackenzie Grubbs ran the 100 hurdles in 15.81 seconds, finishing 32nd. Neither made the finals, concluding their seasons.
