WILLISTON - Tallying an overall score of 165.5 points, the Dickinson High boys swim and dive team took home sixth place at the WDA Championships on Saturday, Feb. 23, from the Williston Area Recreation and Wellness Center.
Despite having just two of its swimmers collect event victories, Minot won the meet with a team mark of 597.5. Bismarck Century was second, Mandan was third, while Jamestown and host Williston were locked in a tie for fourth.
The Midgets’ best individual performance came from freshman Mason Beck, who raced the 50-yard freestyle in 23.45 seconds, good enough for a fourth-place finish. He also claimed sixth in the 100 freestyle, clocking in with a time of 52.26.
Also earning a pair of top-10 finishes was Isaac Ellerkamp. With a time of two minutes and 18.78 seconds, the senior was seventh in the 200 individual medley, and ninth in the 100 breaststroke, completing the event in 1:07.78.
Sophomore Taven Wilson captured seventh in the 500 freestyle and freshman Dawson Wilson was fourth in the 1-meter dive. Dawson Wilson, along with Beck, earned selections to the WDA All-Conference team.
