The Dickinson Midgets won the WDA gymnastics meet on Friday in Jamestown.

Dickinson won with a team score of 144.675 points. Jamestown came in second with a team score of 141.350 and Bismarck Legacy took home third place.

Dickinson won every event with a team score of 36.850 on vault, 35.825 on bars, 34.425 on balance, and a 37.575 on floor.

Ayanna Fossum won the all-around, vault, beam and floor. She scored a 37.825 on all-around, 9.525 on vault, 9.275 on beam and 8.875 on floor.

Amy Fridley came in fourth in the all-around with a score of 35.625 and Brooklyn Deguzman came in fifth with a 35.550. Brinklyn Schumacher finished ninth with a score of 34.875.

Schumacher came in fifth on the vault with a score of 9.175, while Fridley tied for sixth with a 9.150. Deguzman tied for ninth with a 9.000.

On the bars, Fossum came in third with a score of 9.250 and Fridley was right behind her with a 9.175. Schumacher came in fifth and Addison Fitterer placed eighth and Deguzman ninth.

Rylee Olson came in second on the beam with a score of 8.850 and Deguzman placed seventh with a 8.425.

Finally on the floor, Fridley scored a 9.425, which was good for fourth place. Deguzman placed fifth and Schumacher and Fitterer tied for tenth.

Dickinson head coach Kent VanElls was named the WDA Coach of the Year in his final year as head coach.

Dickinson will now prepare for the state meet which they host. The meet will be at Dickinson High School starting on Friday, Feb. 28 and concluding on Saturday, Feb. 29.
