Kidder County 70, Mott-Regent-New England 12.
Coming off a win last week, the Wildfire’s momentum was abruptly stopped by the defending state champions and No. 1 ranked Kidder County. The Wolves moved to 5-0 overall and in 9-man region 4, while Mott-Regent-New England drops to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the region. The Wildfire welcome Linton next week for a home game.
Linton/HMB 38, Beach 6.
The Bucs couldn’t get much going on offense against the Lions and fell behind 18-0 at halftime.
Beach has now lost two in a row after winning three straight to start the season. The Bucs are now 3-2 in the region, while Linton is 2-1 overall and in region 4. The Lions hadn’t played for three weeks before the game against the Buccaneers due to COVID-19. Beach hosts Napoleon next Friday night.
South Border 44, Hettinger-Scranton 14.
The Nighthawks are still looking for their first win since 2018 after a defeat against the Mustangs on Friday night. Hettinger-Scranton dropped to 0-4 in 9-man region 4, and things don’t get any easier next week when they are set to host No. 1 ranked Kidder County. The win for South Border was their first of the season.
New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin 60, Richardton-Taylor-Hebron 14.
The Raiders showed promise in the second half last week against Trinity, but they couldn’t carry over that momentum into this week. The Holsteins evened their region 4 record and now sit at 2-2 and 4-2 overall, while Richardton-Taylor-Hebron dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the region. The Raiders go to Southern McLean next week.
Shiloh Christian 45, Killdeer 35.
The Cowboys undefeated season came to an end on Friday night against the Skyhawks as they now sit at 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the region. Shiloh Christian took a lead late in the first half making the score 19-14, and they led 32-27 after three. Killdeer couldn’t rally in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys face another tough test next week when New Salem comes to town. The loss for Killdeer catapults Trinity into first place in the region standings, for now, with a 4-1 region record.
