After a very close second half and two clutch touchdowns coupled with an interception by junior defensive back Javonte Oliphant late in the fourth quarter, the Blue Hawks clinched their sixth consecutive NSAA conference title with a 26-14 score against Valley City.

The Blue Hawks (8-0) were projected to win the NSAA by the coaches poll prior to the season starting and despite a close battle with the Vikings (4-2) Dickinson State was able to come away with its sixth title.

The Blue Hawks managed 321 offensive yards compared to the Vikings' 236.

Senior quarterback Drew Boedecker passed for 168 yards and two touchdowns, his second coming to senior Jaret Lee to take a fourth quarter lead, which led to the Blue Hawks victory.

Head coach Pete Stanton also earned his 58th victory as the head coach of the Blue Hawks.
