Area Athletics — Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021.

Tuesday featured a decent dosage of boys and girls varsity basketball and a tough road outing for the Dickinson High boys hockey team.

For boys basketball, Bowman County and Glen Ullin-Hebron battled in the Bearcats' territory but it was the Bulldogs coming out with the 80-64 victory. The Mott-Regent Wildfire hosted Hazen and despite a tight nit battle was unable to come away with the win, losing 53-50.

In girls basketball, the Hettinger-Scranton Night Hawks went home with a 66-30 road win over Richardton-Taylor. The Trinity Titans traveled to Glen Ullin-Hebron and defeated the Bearcats 64-44, and Beach was unable to take home a road win against Beulah, falling to the Miners 69-46.

In boys hockey, the Dickinson Midgets traveled to Bismarck in hopes of pulling off the upset against the 7-2 Bismarck Century Patriots. The Patriots, known for being one of the best hockey teams in the state of North Dakota, came out with a 15-0 win over the Midgets, which are now 2-9 and will hope to snap its three game losing streak on Saturday at home against Mandan.
