Girls varsity basketball was the main focus on Thursday with six of the eight athletics events taken place within the southwest region of North Dakota being girls basketball.
The Beach Buccaneers traveled to Trenton and just fell short of a victory, losing 48-47. The Glen Ullin-Hebron Bearcats matched up against the Hettinger-Scranton Night Hawks. The Night Hawks took advantage of the home court and came away with the 53-41 win.
In boys varsity basketball, the Bowman County Bulldogs traveled to Baker and head a strong team performance, earning the win 84-45. In wrestling, the Dickinson High wrestling team had back-to-back duals and went 2-0. The Midgets defeated Mandan 63-16 and Watford City 58-16.
