BERKELEY, Calif. -- Former Dickinson State standout Derrick Atkins won the 100-meter dash Saturday at the Brutis Hamilton Invitational at the University of California's Edwards Stadium.
Finishing the race in 10.17 seconds, Atkins won his third consecutive race. He also ran a 20.59 to finish second in the 200.
In 2007, Atkins ran a 9.98 at meet.
His 10.17 is the 12th-fastest 100 time in the world this year.
