Jung’s six 3-pointers lead Dickinson over Watford City

The Dickinson High girls basketball team is off to a 3-1 start to its 2018-19 campaign following a 61-46 victory over Watford City on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from the Dickinson High Gym.

The Midgets did most of their damage in the first half, outscoring the Wolves 30-15 in the first 18 minutes and maintaining that margin until the final buzzer sounded. Senior guard Gabby Jung was the catalyst behind Dickinson’s early success, scoring 16 of her game-high 24 points in the first half, including five 3-pointers.

Junior guard/forward Peyton Selle led the way after that, pouring in 11 of her 17 points in the second half.  

Junior forward Audrey Rodakowski added eight points, while sophomore center Paige Balliet and freshman guard Taya Hopfauf each had five.

Sophomore forward Ashley Holen paced Watford City (1-3, WDA 0-3) with 20 points.

After falling to Bismarck Century at home in the season opener, the Midgets have won their last three contests.
