BELLEVUE, Neb. - In her Dickinson State debut, senior Anna Jofresa led the Blue Hawks with 19 points. Still, her team fell to Bellevue University (Neb.) 97-62 on Friday, Jan. 4, dropping to 0-2 against North Star conference teams.

Jofresa shot 7-for-11 from the field, including 4 of 5 from three-point range. Behind her, senior forward Rojin Karahan netted eight points while freshmen Brook Janz and Caleigh McClenahan each added seven.

Freshman guard Faith Ross tallied a career-high 26 points for the Bruins as she sunk five of her 10 3-pointer attempts. The Bruins (11-6, 2-0 NSAA) shot 38.5 percent from behind the arc while the Blue Hawks (7-10, 0-2 NSAA) shot 40.4 percent from the field and 26.3 percent from long distance.

The first quarter was the closest between the teams, with Bellevue leading 19-13. The Bruins scored over 20 points in the next two frames and ended the game with a 32-point fourth quarter.

Dickinson State also was the most productive in the final stanza, adding 18 points to the scoreboard.

Junior guard Ashlie Larson, a typical high scorer for Dickinson State, only put up two points, but led the team with six assists. McClenahan paced the team with five rebounds and two steals.
