Jung electric in Midgets defeat
BISMARCK — The Dickinson High girls basketball team dropped its fourth consecutive game after falling to Bismarck High 58-48 on Thursday, Jan. 10, from Karlgaard Gym.
However, the story for the Midgets was Gabby Jung. Knocking down five 3-pointers, the senior guard scored a season-high 34 points, which included a 7-for-8 performance from the free-throw line.
The two teams were tied at 25 at halftime as Jung scored all but four of Dickinson’s points. In the second half, Jung drained three shots from behind the arc and connected on all four of her attempts from the charity stripe.
While the Midgets were reliant on their star, the Demons had seven of their players enter the scoring column in the final 18 minutes.
Bismarck was led by senior forward Hannah Golus, who scored nine of her team-high 11 points after the halftime break. Results ThursdayBismarck High 58, Dickinson High 48D 25 23B 25 33D: Gabby Jung 34, Taya Hopfauf 6, Kendryn Bullinger 4, Taylor Nelson 2, Audrey Rodakowski 2.B: Hannah Golus 11, Olivia Dickerson 10, Mandie Picard 8, Cadee Ryckman 8, Dani Korsmo 7, Elle Hill 5, Mak Maher 3, Megan Henderson 3, Maddy Steckler 2, Lindsey Wilz 1. 3-pointers: D 7 (Jung 5), B 1 (Golus 1).
