Dickinson State women win on senior night

Ahead of the Dickinson State women’s basketball team’s decisive 76-56 win over Presentation College (S.D.) on Saturday, Feb. 16, five seniors were honored.

Guards Lacey Waid, Riley Helmick, and Anna Jofresa, as well as forward Rojin Karahan, and injured guard Chelsey Borden stood on the floor at Scott Gym for the final time.

While the team earned the big victory, it was a junior that did a lot of the heavy lifting. Junior guard Ashlie Larson netted a game-high 25 points on 4-for-9 shooting from behind the three-point arc.

Karahan led the team with 12 boards as the Blue Hawks out-rebounded Presentation 47-42.

No. 6 Dickinson State will travel to No. 3 Valley City State on Tuesday, Feb. 19, for the first round of the conference tournament.
