Blue Hawk men win over Montana Western

BILLINGS, Mont. -- With five players putting up double digits, the Dickinson State men's basketball team defeated the University of Montana Western 78-67 on Friday, Dec. 28.

BILLINGS, Mont. - With five players putting up double digits, the Dickinson State men’s basketball team defeated the University of Montana Western 78-67 on Friday, Dec. 28.

Senior forward Melvin Collins led the way with 16 points while both junior guards Kenny Jackson and Donte Walker added 14. Sophomore guard Travon Hamilton and junior guard/forward Malcohm Hill followed with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Pacing the Bulldogs was Kooper Kidgell, who scored a game-high 23 points while also earning five assists.

Thanks to 2-for-5 shooting from Jackson, the Blue Hawks went 6 of 15 from behind the three-point line. Jackson also was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line, helping his team to 14 of 17 shooting from the charity stripe.

Leading Dickinson State on the boards was Hill with six, while Hamilton, Jackson and junior guard Michael Vandall all earned two steals.
