BILLINGS, Mont. - Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) outscored the Dickinson State women’s basketball team 27-7 in the opening quarter as the Battlin’ Bears went on to rout the Blue Hawks 76-37 on Saturday, Dec. 29.
Turnovers and shooting percentage were the greatest downfalls of the Blue Hawks as they shot 22 percent from the field and 12.5 percent from three-point range. Meanwhile, the team committed 26 turnovers to Rocky Mountain’s 10 turnovers.
Dickinson State did out-rebound the Battlin’ Bears 44-33 as freshman forward Danielle Wallace sucked in 10 boards and senior forward Rojin Karahan earned nine.
Karahan led the Blue Hawks with eight points, while senior guard Riley Helmick added seven and junior guard Celeste Pantoja contributed six.
Alecia Chamberlin paced the Battlin’ Bears with 14 points and accounted for five of the team’s 13 steals.
