TUCSON, Ariz. - An eight-run fourth inning helped Benedictine - Mesa (Ariz.) earn a 9-1 lead heading into the bottom of the inning, but the Dickinson State softball team notched eight runs in the next three innings, and took the win 10-9 with a final run in the seventh on Wednesday, March 14.
The Blue Hawks (6-7, 1-3 NSAA) had 14 hits compared to the Red Hawks’ 16.
Benedictine took out pitcher Kalli Ohton after five innings, allowing 10 hits and seven runs, five being earned. The Blue Hawks collected four hits off of reliever Megan Grigsby, good for three more runs.
Eight of the Red Hawks’ runs were earned.
