MADISON, S.D. - The Dakota State volleyball team held a small lead for the first half of the fourth set against Dickinson State. Trying to force a fifth set, the Trojans led 12-8, but kills from senior outside hitter Kylie Hadley, sophomore middle Alyssa Wisher and junior outside hitter Ellie Hanser helped close the gap and a kill from Sydney Bentz tied the game at 14.
From there, the Blue Hawks pulled ahead to win 25-20, defeating Dakota State 3-1.
Dickinson State won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-17 before Dakota State (14-12, 6-6 NSAA) took the third 25-18.
Hadley led the Blue Hawks (6-21, 4-8 NSAA) with 12 kills, while Marshall added 10. Wisher earned a team-high three blocks and Marshall contributed two.
Junior setter Keera Stookey posted 17 assists and freshman Karlie Cleveland tallied 12.

Defensively, senior defensive specialist Makenzie Digesualdo, who had 17 digs behind Stookey’s 18, earned the sole service ace forthe Blue Hawks.
