Blue Hawks rebound, send 3 to indoor finals

GENEVA, Ohio -- After just missing the finals in the men's 1,600-meter relay Thursday, the Dickinson State track and field teams bounced back for a productive day two of the NAIA Indoor National Championships on Friday.

GENEVA, Ohio - After just missing the finals in the men’s 1,600-meter relay Thursday, the Dickinson State track and field teams bounced back for a productive day two of the NAIA Indoor National Championships on Friday.
DSU picked up its first all-American of the weekend, while three runners moved forward to the finals in their respected events.
Senior Andy Knebel took home the all-American honor after placing seventh in the men’s high jump with a height of six feet, eight inches.
Breyan Miller advanced to the finals in the 60- and 200-meter runs. Miller finished with times of 6.85 and 21.53 seconds, respectively.
Sophomore Dante Carter also advanced in the men’s mile and 1,000 run, placing fourth and first, respectively. In the mile, he ran 4:21.03 and 2:26.06 in the 1,000.
Senior Dustin Sandbak placed fifth in the 800 at 1:54.33 and moves forward to the finals.
Seniors Nathan Magstadt and Brittany Young failed to make it to the final rounds of the men’s 60-meter hurdles and women’s 800.
The Blue Hawks will try to snag national titles or an all-American status in the final day of nationals at 1 p.m. today.
