For the fifth time this season, Dickinson State freshman kicker Cody Johnson was named the North Star Athletic Association's special teams player of the week.
The announcement came Monday, two days after Johnson went a perfect 7 for 7 in extra point attempts in the Blue Hawks' 49-20 victory at Waldorf (Iowa). Johnson also averaged 59.1 yards per kickoff in seven tries.
Sophomore safety Cain Boschee was also named the NSAA defensive player of the week for the second time this year. Against Waldorf, Boschee had seven tackles and two interceptions, one of which he returned 99 yards for a touchdown.
This is the second time this season Boschee and Johnson have been honored by the NSAA in the same week. The previous time came Sept. 26 after Dickinson State's 55-36 victory against Presentation College.
