LANGDON - An interception returned for a touchdown from sophomore linebacker Grant Romfo early in the fourth quarter gave Landon-Edmore-Munich a lead it would not relinquish, defeating Bowman County 22-19 on Saturday, Nov. 3, during a Class A semifinal.

Bowman County held a 13-0 advantage at halftime. Bulldogs quarterback Jacob Svihovec opened the scoring with a 42-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. In the second, Svihovec connected with sophomore slotback Caleb Duffield on a 20-yard touchdown reception.

The Cardinals responded early in the second half. Romfo scored on a 2-yard run before sophomore quarterback Simon Romfo found junior wide receiver Sean Gette on the two-point conversion. The duo connected on a 54-yard pass on Langdon-Edmore-Munich’s next possession, giving the home team its first lead.

Before the end of the third, the Bulldogs went back in front on a Svihovec 1-yard run. Bowman County forced  a Cardinals turnover on downs to start the fourth, but Grant Romfo captured his pick-6 on the first play of the ensuing drive.

Bowman County got the ball three more times but failed to score, finishing its season with an 11-1 record.
