Bratten, Ellerkamp keep shining for DHS swimming and diving

MINOT - Keeping their momentum from the home dual against Bismarck Century earlier in the week, sophomore Steven Bratten and junior Isaac Ellerkamp performed well for the Dickinson High boys swimming and diving team at the Minot Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The two teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay as well as the 200-yard freestyle relay in which they earned second and fifth place, respectively. Senior Garrett Billings and freshman Taven Wilson joined them in those relays.

Bratten swam the 100 freestyle in 53.74 seconds, good for fourth place. He also placed sixth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.05 seconds.

Ellerkamp placed 10th in the 100 butterfly and third in the 100 breaststroke with a state-qualifying time of one minute and 7.83 seconds.

Eighth grader Dawson Wilson placed fifth in the 1-meter dive competition with a score of 291.30 points. Eighth grader Mason Beck narrowly missed the top ten, placing 11th with 248.10 points.
