BELLEVUE, Neb. - Pitching all seven innings for the Dickinson State softball team, junior Abi Brooks kept Bellevue University (Neb.) off the board, allowing three hits and striking out two in the Blue Hawks 1-0 victory on Friday, April 13 at Bellevue.
Bruins pitcher Erin Sharpe allowed just four hits over six innings, while striking out two and walking two.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when freshman Emilie Sickler singled on a line drive, pushing fellow Dickinson High graduate Sarah Dobitz to score.
Along with Sickler and Dobitz, juniors Kayla Stephens and Claire Shoffit had hits.
For the Bruins (25-19, 7-9 NSAA), Sarah Zeleny, Emily Gigax and Grace Glotfelty had the only hits.

Dickinson State extends its record to 21-16 overall and 12-8 against North Star Athletic Association opponents, good for third in the conference.
