Bulldogs bulldoze over Killdeer

KILLDEER -- Scoring all its points in the first half, the Bowman County football team defeated Class A Region 4 opponent Killdeer 41-16 on Friday, Sept. 7 in Killdeer.

KILLDEER - Scoring all its points in the first half, the Bowman County football team defeated Class A Region 4 opponent Killdeer 41-16 on Friday, Sept. 7 in Killdeer.

Two short bursts opened the scoring. A 1-yard dash from Bowman County junior Matt Osendorf broke the ice. Next, senior running back Alex Madrigal rushed four yards to score, putting the Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0 Region 4) up 14-0 early in the contest.

A 25-yard pass from junior quarterback Jacob Svihovec connected with senior Corban Massey to conclude the first-frame scoring.

Svihovec found senior receiver Jason Ortiz for a 75-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Svihovec completed 8 of his 10 attempts, earning 193 yards in the air.

In the same frame, Madrigal rushed a yard to score and sophomore Caleb Duffield ran 36 yards to the end zone on a punt return.

The Cowboys (2-1, 1-1 Region 4) tacked on a touchdown in each of the final two quarters. First, senior receiver Kacen Gartner scored on a 34-yard pass from senior quarterback Dylan Tabor, followed by a 6-yard pass from Tabor to junior Gabe Magee. Senior running back Riley Reiss ran in the two-point conversion each time.

Tabor went 7-for-12 on the night, throwing 104 yards.
