CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho baseball team completed the four-game sweep against Dickinson State.
The Yotes shut out DSU 4-0 in game one and won 4-3 in game two on Saturday at Wolfe Field.
Idaho starting pitcher Zach Fabricus picked up the win in game one and gave up eight hits over seven innings and struck out eight. DSU’s Chas Allen was credited with the loss and had four runs - two earned - on six hits in eight innings of work.
The only Blue Hawk player with a multi-hit game was second baseman Landon Briscoe, who went 3 for 4.
For the Yotes, right fielder Troy Carr scored two runs and a RBI, and Jake Hennessey drove in two runs. Center fielder Jordan Grubbs and designated hitter Cole Mansanerez had the other two runs for Idaho.
In game two, DSU got on the board and Caleb Burgard led with two runs. Briscoe, Dylan Skabo and Sam Bisson each added a RBI and Ryan Mitchell scored the team’s other run.
Mansanerez continued his successful outing by going 3 for 3 with two runs. Hennessey finished with one run and a RBI, designated hitter Kyle Garvin drove in two runs and Brady Mooney scored.
DSU’s Eric Seiler pitched six innings, finished with four runs - three earned - on nine hits and was tagged with the loss. Idaho reliever Joel Martin claimed the win.
DSU begins its Arizona road trip with games against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 14.
