Comeback falls just short for Midgets volleyball

MANDAN -- The Dickinson high volleyball team played host Mandan to a near dead heat Tuesday, but ultimately dropped a tight fifth set and the match to the Braves.

MANDAN - The Dickinson high volleyball team played host Mandan to a near dead heat Tuesday, but ultimately dropped a tight fifth set and the match to the Braves.

After Mandan won the first two sets by a combined five points, the Midgets battled back to take two more close sets, forcing the decisive extended fifth set.

Lexi Jordheim had 20 kills to lead the team, while Morgan Kainz and Mariah Mortensen had 11 and 8 kills, respectively.

On defense, Sarah Dobitz recorded 43 digs, with Jordheim adding 22. Lauren Jorda’s 45 assists was the top mark for the Midgets.
